Sketchup edit vertices6/11/2023 That is to say, if I want to move a single vertex around to make it more accurately model the original real-world object I'm trying to replicate, it's almost impossible for me to do so because the model is built up in this somewhat complicated and indirect way. However, the resulting model is very "brittle" to modifications. This works perfectly well in creating a solid model. I used the lines between points to create a bunch of "Plane at angle" reference planes, which I used to slice up the solid using lots of "Split body" and "Combine" commands. I then created a simple rectangular solid around the 3D sketch. In order to make the model, I approximated the locations of each vertex of the original crystal by making some sketches and then using the Move tool to distribute those points into 3D space. Here is the physical result of one of my prototypes: Being a crystal, it is essentially a bunch of planar surfaces that meet up at odd angles. I am creating a solid model of a real-world crystal structure.
